High Point over UIC 90–80 in 2025 Geico Boardwalk Battle
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. —In a high-scoring affair at the 2025 Geico Boardwalk Battle, the High Point Panthers defeated the UIC Flames 90–80, keeping their strong early season momentum alive. The Panthers took a narrow 41–39 lead into halftime and pulled away in the second half with consistent offense and key defensive stops.
Cam’Ron Fletcher powered the win for High Point with 27 points on 9-of-12 shooting and a perfect 7-of-7 from the free-throw line, anchoring the offensive surge. Meanwhile, UIC was led by Andy Johnson with 17 points, but the Flames couldn’t sustain the pace as turnovers piled up and high-quality shots proved harder to come by.
High Point’s ability to win the turnover battle (12 vs. 18) and convert in transition helped them separate in the late stages, despite UIC’s higher field-goal percentage. The Panthers’ win adds a solid non-conference victory to their resume, while UIC will look to rebound as the season progresses.
